Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) conducts for state-level B.Tech admissions and COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges – Karnataka) also conducts centralised admission process for 190 private engineering colleges in Karnataka.

KEA conducts Karnataka PGCET tentatively in the second week of July in an offline mode for the candidates who are seeking admission to the various M.Tech programmes offered by its participating institutes. GATE qualified candidates are not required to appear for Karnataka PGCET but will have to fill the application form. Seats will be allotted based on the performance of the candidates in PGCET and GATE.   • Karnataka B.Tech applicants must have studied Class 12 with 45% of the marks and Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science as the main subjects.
  • The applicants must have a valid KCET or COMEDK UGET or JEE Main score to secure B.Tech admission in Karnataka.
  • Karnataka M.Tech applicants should have completed their B.Tech course from an institute recognized by the state of Karnataka.
  • General category candidate should have secured an aggregate of at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. While reserved category should have an aggregate of at least 45%.
  • The domicile criteria also has to be fulfilled. The candidates or their parents should have resided in the state for at least seven years. Moreover, candidates should have studied in one of more Governments or Government recognized institutes of the state for at least seven years commencing from 1st standard to the qualifying examination either continuously or in a broken period.

On the basis of entrance test score, 12th score, filled choice & availability of seats, the seats are allotted.

  • Candidates should pass 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Candidates have to score a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category candidates) in their qualifying examination. General Category – 50%, SC/ ST/ SCA – 40%, BC – 45%, DNC & MBC – 40%
  • The admissions will be offered through the national level JEE Main entrance exam for B.Tech and JEE Advanced for admission in IITs.
  • The state level admission process is also conducted for engineering courses by the name of TNEA 2019 (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions). Candidates can also appear in SRMJEEE, AEEE and VITEEE 2019 university level exams.
  • For M.Tech courses, candidates must have to appear in national level GATE 2019 entrance exam or the TANCET conducted by Anna University.

Every year lakhs of students compete for B.Tech admission in Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the states in India where engineering admissions are purely based on merit in the entrance exam. Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) conducts B.Tech admission process, whereas the entrance test for engineering courses is conducted by JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) Kakinada.

All the candidates who score minimum qualifying marks in AP EAMCET and have a valid AP EAMCET rank are eligible for the counselling process. The B.Tech counselling procedure has different stages with the entire process being centralised. Based on the marks scored, rank obtained, reservation and the merit, seats are allotted to the students.

  • The candidates must have passed Intermediate (Class 12) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (MPC) as the main subjects with at least 40 – 45% of the marks. Students pursuing final-year intermediate or waiting for results can also register for AP EAMCET exam.
  • A candidate who migrates to Andhra Pradesh from Telangana within a period of five years from June 02, 2014, shall be regarded as the local candidate in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This particular rule is applicable until July 01, 2019. Migrated students must note that the rule is applicable for Andhra Pradesh B.Tech admissions 2019. These candidates must submit the documents prescribed by APSCHE. The proforma or soft copy of Form I, Form II, and Form III will be available on the official website of AP EAMCET.
  • Candidates who wish to participate in the M.Tech admission process had to fill and submit the AP PGECET application form.
  • Candidates must have passed BE/B. Tech/AMIE in their respective disciplines with 50% marks.
